Shutdown Problem

Shutdown Problem

After upgrading from Windows NT 4.0 Server to Windows 2000 Server the Windows shutdown process never completes. This is true no matter if Shut Down or Restart is selected. The shut down process ends with a blank (black) screen and flashing cursor. I then need to cold boot to restart.

All Compaq Support Paqs (and ROMPaq) modules are the most recent available from the Compaq Web site.

Re: Shutdown Problem

I am facing the same problem not only to a 1200 Proliant but also to a Dual 3000. I also upgraded from NT to 2000 and had the same problem. So, I re-installed everything with a clean install to both machines. Both were all right until the time I installed the latest SSD and accessed the Windows Update site for updates. Somewhere between the problem re appeared. I can't do the same job all over again, so I am waiting for an answer from Compaq (at least 9 months now!!!).
