Slow Boot up time

When booting the server, see spec below, it takes approximately 2.5 hours to start NT Windows 2000. When viewing the server console screen the startup blocks (.........) appear to stop after 13 blocks i.e. 75%. Upon looking at the disk array you it appears that the array is rebuliding itself or performing some form og housekeeping exercise as the disk lights are continously flashing in pairs as if it is stripping. Until this finishes, then NT will not start which is normally 2.5 hrs. after I have powered the server on, any suggestions/ideas would be of help!

Server configuration:
Prloliant ML530
2x1GB processor
2GB RAM
1 x Compaq Smart array controller (5300)
3 x 72 GB HDD (Raid 5)
1 x NIC3212 card, configured as 100 MB

NT 2000:
Partitions: Compaq Smart Start (10 MB)
Drive C: (5GB) Active NTFS boot disk
Drive D: (127 GB) Extended NTFS partion.

Re: Slow Boot up time

HI, Are you able to get through the F10 (system configuration utility) since the error could be strictly software. You could also run the ADU (array diagnostics) and performed drive firware updates as well as the array controller firware. You can also run a quick diagnostic to rule out any hardware fault. Hope this will help.
