Hi There,
I am installing 3 x 72GB SAS 15-K 6Gb SGT HDDs in ML 350G6 Server with E5260 Chipset and P 410i array controller. I have configured Raid 1+0 with 1 online spare. Firmwares are upto date. I am installing ESXi 5.0. Everything is ok but after installtion when I create Virtual machine and allocate space it takes quite long time 12-15 mins where as if I compare it with my ML 370G6 server with 10K SAS HDDs Raid 5 installed performance difference is ML370 is 66% faster then it.
Interestingly when I start or stop it also takes more time compare to same machine. I think Raid 5 with 10 K Hdds should be slower then Raid 1+0 15-K 6Gb HDDs.
If anybody know the reason, please explain may be i am doing something wrong.
thank you
SF Hussain

SolutionNo Idea...:(
BTW by updating firmware to 9.2 speeds up VM a little bit but does not resolve the VM creation issue.
