Smart Array 5300 - 1783 error
Hi,
i have 1783 Smart array error on boot ...
I have :
- removed ram+battery and reinstalled
- removed entire array controller and reinstalled
- re-updated ROM system
- replaced array controller
I have the same problem...
On array controller there are more leds. Three are orange...i don't know if is good this..
There is a manual service to see status leds?
There are other operations to solve this problem ?

Re: Smart Array 5300 - 1783 error
Hey, what is this installed in?
Are there more PCI slots that you can try it in?
Clear NVRAM?
Firmware update on the card?
Maybe it's the RAM on it that's broken?

Re: Smart Array 5300 - 1783 error
It's installed on old ML370 (667MHz x 2).
It's is installed on pci slot 3....but i have tested on 4,5,6....same result!
How i can clear NVRAM ???? What's NVRAM ?
I can't update firmware.... i have Boot the server from media that contains the ROM Update Utility ...but it don't see a smart array controller !
I have replaced it's ram with another ram (64Mb>128Mb) ....but don't solve a problem..

Re: Smart Array 5300 - 1783 error
NVRAM may be possible to clear via a DIP switch on your system board, unsure if this was available on these old servers though. NVRAM is the BIOS really, it resets it back to default.
That page has firmwares for the 5300.

Re: Smart Array 5300 - 1783 error
I have cleared NVRAM and i have re-writted the bios.
Same problem :-(
If there is manual service of Smart Array 5300 i can send you leds status on 5300 board.....
There are any test or solutions ?
