Smart Start v5.30 System Erase Utility (oops!) Smart Array Support CD v5.03 ACU 2.70A.
Created and configured array at Level 5. Logical Drive 69 GB from 3 X 34 GB physical disks in a ML370.
Array status: "Background Parity Initializing"
Topics suggest this could take 40 hours! Windows 2000 Server CD F6 will not find driver options nor is any physical disk detected. Must I wait out the Parity Check? What step comes next? tnx

Re: Smart Array 5300 ACU Parity Check
THANK YOU very much for these three useful links. SmartStart v5.5 is sooo much better than v5.3!! The Firmware Maintenance CD worked great updating SmartArray v1.76 to 3.54. No more 'Physical disk missing' type errors -- so far.
I also downloaded psp-7.20.w2k.i386.zip which looks like it should run from Windows 2000 server after Windows Updates to install the best drivers. Is that about right?

Re: Smart Array 5300 ACU Parity Check
Yes. You should run the psp after doing the windows updates since windows overwrites some of the drivers that you installed with the smart start install.
Btw...psp 7.3 is available.
