Smart Array 5i Controller settings
Hello,
We have a DL380 with Smart Array 5i Controller with 6*146G HDD which are configured in RAID5. I checked the ACU and the controller cache settings is 100% read and 0% write. I want to change this but cannot see any option to change it. Can anyone advise. Thanks

Re: Smart Array 5i Controller settings
Do you have the battery backup write cache?
It's a battery that goes on the Controller. It's like a $30 part.
You'll need that before you can change the cache settings.

Re: Smart Array 5i Controller settings

Some server have a simple 5i controller and other 5i plus which have the capacity to upgrade BBWC in order to be able to change read/write
check this

http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/arraycontrollers/smartarray5i/description.html#quickspecs
in case you have 5i plus this is the part you need
