Smart Array 641 - 140GB Mirror - Win2K server

On a DL380G3 with a 641 Array controller running Win2K Server SP4 I have the following problem:
There are 2 mirrors, 36Gb (boot) + 72GB.
Now I wanted to add another mirror, 140GB (slot 4 & 5).
After adding and configuring the mirror in the array controller bios windows 2000 didn't want to boot anymore. The server hangs during boot process in the white W2K screen with the blue progress bar below.
Wait longer you could say? Waited for more then 30'.

..after removing the disks and removing the mirror from the array controller bios, problem was solved...

Any advice ????

Re: Smart Array 641 - 140GB Mirror - Win2K server

Hi Frank,

Just try to add only one disk of 146 GB at first , configure it in array controller as RAID 0, and see then what happens. Then, remove this disk and add another one in next empty slot, configure it as RAID 0, and boot again. if server now booting fine, put the other disk and configure the RAID 1 for new disks.

also verify firmware / driver / system ROM for Server and SA 641
