Smart Array 641 Controller Accelerator failed

Hi,

on my ProLiant ML350 G4p I replaced the old battery by a new one.
But allready the status ist Temp disabled.

Drive Array Accelerator Status Change. The array accelerator board attached to the array controller in Slot 3 has a new status of 4.
(Accelerator status values: 1=other, 2=notConfigured, 3=enabled, 4=tmpDisabled, 5=permDisabled)

What can I do?

Re: Smart Array 641 Controller Accelerator failed

This is normal and by design.

replacing the battery it takes a while to recharge it.
While the battery is low on charge, it temporarily disables array accelerator.

Wait until the battery is fully charged.

you can view detailed info in ACU about it.

HTH Bye!

Re: Smart Array 641 Controller Accelerator failed

Thanks for your answer.
I replace the battery last friday.
Where in the ACU i can view the status?
I don't know where this point is?
The ACU Version is 8.50.5.0

Re: Smart Array 641 Controller Accelerator failed

inside the ACU, select the controller and then click on the "view status warning" (or stuff like that, sry i have italian localized version here..)

then please post results here to let us know...

it's probably a bad (DOA) battery or so..

Re: Smart Array 641 Controller Accelerator failed

Ok, thanks.
Did you have an document or website where I see all the Error Codes?

Re: Smart Array 641 Controller Accelerator failed

go to the HP website, support section and select the hardware models that you own. then you can download manuals, drivers, firmwares and view CUSTOMER ADVISORIES about it.

HTH, thanks.

try googling:
+263 "The current array controller has one or more array" accelerator

there is some result about smart arrays that needs a firmware upgrade...

remember: first upgrade DRIVERS (better with PSP), then firmwares.

HTH bye!

Re: Smart Array 641 Controller Accelerator failed

try here, but you won't find exactly 263.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00300504/c00300504.pdf

but, just for clear: it's not enough self-explanatory the ACU message:

# 263 The current array controller has one or more array accelerator
batteries that are failed. Array accelerator operations such as
Expansion, Extension, and Migration are temporarily suspended until
the batteries are replaced. Please consult the user guide to identify
and replace the failed batteries.

???

What would you like to know more?
