Hello
I have an ML350 G4 with Smart Array 641 and 4x36Gb hot pluggable drives set up in a Raid 5 configuration. I need to add additional storage space and was hoping to put in a couple of 72Gb or 146Gb hot pluggable drives and set up a mirror on those. I can't seem to find out if that is possible on the 641. Can it control 2 separate arrays at the same time? If I run through the array configuration wizard will I risk losing my current data.
Many thanks
Katherine

Solution
Hi Katherine,
you can add e.g. 2 additional drives and make a new array from them.
Every smart array conroller supports more than 2 arrays and up to 32 logical drives...
Simply insert them, go to Array configuration utility(either booting Smartstart or using the online tool) and click create array
