Following the firmware update we get this POST Error indicating we need to reconfigure our arrays and restore data.
All servers are HP DL380 G4 with 6i Controllers.
Specific Example:
Array A: logical drive with a pair 72 GB in Slot 0,1 RAID 1
Array B: logical drive with (4) 300 GB in Slots 2,3,4,5 RAID 5.
Second array reports drive 4,5 have incorrect SCSI IDs.
Looks like HP has an issue with the current firmware release, v2.80, for SA 6i Controller.
Please advise...we don't want to have to restore 700 GB of data if we don't need to; the down-time would kill us.
I have attached the ADU Report.

SolutionYes the only workaround is downgrade to 2.76 firmware
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=397634&prodNameId=3288132&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-ae45c3cf8eca441b923a32169f
and error disappeared
so you don' to worry about restoring your data, only apply previous firmware and reboot and fixed. everything OK again
regards

Re: Smart Array 6i Controller FW V2.80 Error 1734: Incorrect SCSI ID
Has HP issed an Advisory to this effect? You would think that HP would not want us all to roll out this new FW if there is a bug!

Re: Smart Array 6i Controller FW V2.80 Error 1734: Incorrect SCSI ID
The real solution is to upgrade the firmware on the Array Controller to version 2.84
HP has a discussion of the fix located at http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=453210&docId=emr_na-c01541246&docLocale=en_US
You will need to download both files of the online firmware update from the drivers support page for the Smart Array 6i controller.
