Smart Array 6i Error - Wide SCSI transfer failed

Hallo,

I have a Probelm with our Smart Array 6i.
Im POST is a Message
" Storage enclosure on SCSI Bus 1 - Wide SCSI transfer faild.
Solution: This may indicate a bad SCSI cable on bus. Try repalacing this cable."

But there is no cable there is a "Riser-Card" in the DL360. And both Disks have the same Error-Message.

Hi,

resolution

If the scenario in the Description section occurs, reseat the SCSI backplane as follows:

Power down the server and open the cover.
Locate the SCSI backplane.
Apply gentle pressure until the backplane snaps into place.
Replace the cover and boot the server.

Re: Smart Array 6i Error - Wide SCSI transfer failed

I've found this to be a problem with the SCSI cable itself in the past. Make sure there isn't a bent pin - you'll have to look closely as it can sometimes be very hard to spot.

You can carefully straighten them - but be careful to not damage any of the others.

Also - reseating cables/board is generally a good first step.
