Smart Array P410i Controller - Maximum number of RAID Support
I would just like to know, how many different numbers of RAID can one HBA support? Ex, customer has a ProLiant ML350 G6 with 8 drives and wants to create a mixture of RAID 10, RAID 5, and RAID 10 using only the integrated P410i controller. Can this controller alone carry all these 3 RAIDs or is it advisable for the customer to buy 3 RAID Controllers?
P.S, This thread has been moved from General to ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL). - Hp Forum moderator

Re: Smart Array P410i Controller - Maximum number of RAID Support
That's if you want maximum performance and will be using the 8 disks together. You can also create 3 individual RAIDs, but you need minimum 3 disks for RAID 5, and 4 for RAID 10.
