Smart Array P440ar Firmware Update from 4.52 to 4.58

Hello Community,

I am trying to update the Smart Array P440ar from 4.52 to 4.58 but it wont work Update not attempted. All selected devices are either up-to-date or have newer versions installed.
. The ProLiant DL380 Gen9 runs with VMware ESXi on a SD flash media.

I download the Hotfix on this Page http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c05352202.

Online ROM Flash Component for VMware ESXi - Smart Array H240ar, H240nr, H240, H241, H244br, P240nr, P244br, P246br, P440ar, P440, P441, P542D, P741m, P840, P840ar, and P841 (4.58), searching...
Initialize Channel Interface failed.

Update not attempted. All selected devices are either up-to-date or have newer versions installed.

Do not know how to solve this.

Maybe a driver issue?

Follow the instructions or attempt an offline upgrade by adding the *.rpm hotfix to SPP and boot from.

Is there a tutorial to create a offline Upgrade? Cant find it.

Open / mount the ISO, extract and run usb\hpuskkey\hpusbkey.exe to create a USB thumb drive.

Add

hp-firmware-smartarray-ea3138d8e8-4.58-1.1.x86_64.rpm

into hp\swpackages

and boot from this drive.

I think you need to delete the bp{numberstring}.xml file from the packages direcory for this unsupported method to work

You will see additional files as additional repositories when SUM is starting.

OK, It's been a long time since I've added files to an SPP, thanks for the info

create a custom Baseline and ISO with the *.rpm Hotfix and the firmware update was success.
