Hi All,
We have replaced faulty hard drive with new Hard drive received from hp. server details are as follow,
Model: DL380 G5 Storage Server.
O/S: MS Windows Server 2003 Standard x64 Edition, R2, Service Pack 2.
External Storage: 2x Enclosure attached via SAS ports of Smart Array P800/512MB RAID controller.
I am facing problem of rebuild in external storage. RAID 5 configured on 5 hard drives (SLOT 1, 2, 3, 4 ,5 and slot 11 as spare)
slot 5 was faulty and we replaced it with new hard drive received from hp.
Problem: (Rebuild issue) Currenty Array RAID 5 is in rebuild phase but rebuild proceed from 0% from last 5 days. Server is running in critical mode.
Please find attached document of ADU report.
Kindly advice to take action to resolve this issue.
Regards,
Sanaullah Shah

Solution
Hi,
According to the ADU report attached:
Logical Drive 3 Warning Logical drive state: The logical drive is queued for rebuilding
Logical Drive 4 Warning Logical drive state: The logical drive is queued for rebuilding
Rebuild Aborted From Read Error:
[ SATA Array C ] â [ Logical Drive 4 ]
[ SATA Array B ] â [ Logical Drive 3 ]
Read Errors on Drives:
Physical Drive 2E:1:2
Physical Drive 2E:1:7
Physical Drive 2E:1:9
Timeout Errors on Drives:
Physical Drive 2E:1:6
Physical Drive 2E:1:9
Physical Drive 2E:1:10
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Until the read errors or timeout errors are not fixed the rebuild will not happen.
Its better to log another call with HP support and get the latest ADU log analyzed.
Thanks
