Smart Array p410 - cannot remove spare from SATA array
Hi, I have a p410 smart array controller with 3 array
Note: controller and HDD have the lastest firmware installed
A) 1 SAS array (1x2disks) 148Gb hotswap
B) 1 SAS array (1x2disks) 300Gb hotswap
C) 1 Raid 1 SATA array with spare (1x2disks + spare) 250Gb NON HOTSWAP connected by cables
I cannot detach the spare from the array C in any way to reuse the channel for a new 600Gb SAS Raid 1array
with acucli , this should be the command
- controller slot=3 array C remove spares=all
but I get this error:
Error: This command did not complete properly. Please check your configuration
for possible hardware or configuration problems. Use the "show" command
on devices to show additional details about the configuration.
with the offline ACU gui nothing is allowed to be done on any disk.
Can someone help me please?
Thankyou in advance
Rudy
this is the output of
- ctrl all show detail config
..... everything seems to be ok

Note: controller isn't @ the lastest firmware
Current Firmware Version: 6.40 // the lastest is 7.24 (B) (13 Dec 2012)
For Logical Unit C, the cable is connected on MotherBoard?
it's possible to send an screen shoot for ACU GUI?

Re: Smart Array p410 - cannot remove spare from SATA array
1 channel to the cage, the other to sata hdd. if I connect my new 600 gb sas disks, one is unassigned, the other gets the position of the sata spare. the acu gui is the offline one, because is under citrix xenserver. I cannot find the 7.24(b) firmware on hp site. where is it?
