Smart Start 7.0 ROM update

HI,

I noticed that the ROM update option is no longer available on version 7.0? What is the reason for this?

I just received a new Proliant Essentials kit in the mail and it had 4 cds. Smartstart cd, Management cd, Software Support cd and the Firmware Update cd. So it looks like the firmware updates are now on a separate cd.

hp decided to remove the rom and firmware updates from the smart start cd for space reasons.

there are two new software/firmware update cds that do NOT ship with new proliant servers.

these 2 cds are available on a subscripton basis only - dollars involved

everything missing from ss7.0 and higher is available for free at the HP web site - and the stuff is really up to date

build your own cd if you do rom/bios/fw upgrades frequently

Hi,
There is a seperate CD you can download that contains all the latest ROM updates. It has the advantage that it is bootable and will check your system - listing all the hardware for which it has newer versions. Once updated it even ejects itself before rebooting the server.
