Smart Start 7.40

Hi I recently tried to use the ACU (Array Configuration Utility) with the Smart Start 7.40 CD.

After accessing the ACU I always get the error massage: "The connection was refused when attempting to contact 127.0.0.1:2381"

NICs are working fine.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks, Flo

Re: Smart Start 7.40

Have you got any firewall software running that could be blocking port 2381?

Re: Smart Start 7.40

No there is nothing installed yet on the server...
I only inserted and booted the Smart Start CD.
So there can´t be any software running yet.

But thanks for the hint...

Re: Smart Start 7.40

Port 2381 is https, 2301 http (redirects to 2381) - did you use https or http ?

Re: Smart Start 7.40

Flo,

What server model have you got?
and is there an OS installed yet?
if so what is it?

Cheers

Re: Smart Start 7.40

Hi,

it´s a DL360 G3 with an 5i RAID-Controller onboard.
The system is brand new, so there never was any OS installed on the machine.
I really don´t know what is going wrong there.
The same CD also worked in DL380G4 so it can´t be the CD.

Thanks in advance

Re: Smart Start 7.40

Hi,

did you tried an older version of the SmartStart CD?

Re: Smart Start 7.40

similar problem with smartstart 8.40

the interface is composed of X11, firefox and apache.

1) break X11 with ctrl - alt - backspace

2) wait a bit, hit enter, you are on a Linux console

3)cd /etc/init.d/boot.d
restart the script beginning at the Sxxboot.hardwaredisvovery. On the 8.40 CD its S50boot.hardwaredisvovery

for a in S[5-9]
do
./$a start
done

... et voilà
