Smart array 6400 on DL140 G3
Installing Smart array 6402 controller on Proliant dl140 G3 cause a starting problem.
Few seconds after power-up Internal error led coming up and error is logged : CPU0 IERR .
The same array controller is tested OK on dl140g2 and dl380 g4
update of firmware is not helping
current version:
server ROM : 1.18
Lights-on : 2.21
array 6402: 2.84
Controller is PCI-X 133 64bit and the server has the same expansion slot.
What can be the problem ?

Re: Smart array 6400 on DL140 G3
Hi,
I can comment regarding the error "CPU0 IERR"
Its mostly related to Temperature or CPU.
Just make sure the fans are working and processor air duct/baffle are in place.
If possible, try with a different CPU.
A similar error "CPU0 IERR" is discussed in this post.

Re: Smart array 6400 on DL140 G3
CPU IERR is logged and server can't start only when the array is installed. Without the board, server is starting normally and no alarms a logged.
Looks like configuration mishmash. It will be helpful if some body has successful installation.
