Hi everyone.
I have just upgraded an old ML110 server with a ML30 Gen10.
Unfortunatly the P410 smart array card that was in the ML110 will not work with the ML30.
So I have a P408 Gen10 smart array card on its way to me.
I just wanted to know is it as simple as plugging in the old disk array and setting up on the new controller or will I have to mess around to get it all to work?
Thanks Dave

Re: Smart array P410 change to P408i - Set up old disks with new controller
Hello,
I would request you take the complete data backup before doing this activity or change the SA controller card ( raid card) As well as this is not a recommendation for change the SA controller ( raid controller ) with the different SA controller card ( raid card)
Please follow the below quick space for your reference.

The Gen10 controller naming framework has been updated to simplify identification as depicted below. For a more detailed breakout of the available Gen10 Smart Array controllers visit the HPE Smart Array Gen10 Controllers Data Sheet.
NOTE: ML30 Gen10 does not support internal RAID Controller E208i-p and P408i-p in NHP models.

The P408 should recognise the existing array. Try to keep the drives in the same bay/slot order.
As with anytime you areworking with drives and arrays be sure to have a valid backup of your data.

Re: Smart array P410 change to P408i - Set up old disks with new controller
Yes indeed. Just plugged everything in (in same order) and worked like a charm. Very good news.
Thanks for the answer.
