according to http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01608507/c01608507.pdf page 34
P420 is PCIe 3.0 x8
according to http://images10.newegg.com/User-Manual/User_Manual_59-107-745.pdf page 11
we can use slots 3,5,6,7
Am i right ?
So which one is slot 2 ? And does your link applies to me ?
UPD: Pardon, i looked at items, but i must look at slots, so it's 4,3,2,1.

Re: Smart array P420 temperature is 255
Hi,
do you have 2 CPUs installed ?
Slot 1-4 are PCI 3.0, but 3+4 only activated with an 2nd CPU.
Slot 5+6 PCI 2.0
If no 2nd CPU is installed i would try Slot5-.
Inside the QuickSpecs you find detailed informations

Re: Smart array P420 temperature is 255
Pardon but Slot 5 is PCIe2!
And accordnig to quick specs with 1 CPU i can use only slot and slot2, but slot1 is x4 which is not suitable, so slot2 is only slot i can use!
