SmartArray 642 / ML530G2 configuration ?
Hello all...
was wondering.. I have an available SmartArray 642 controller ( "normally" the internal scsi tie is only for internal drive ties.. the port on the bulkhead is for an external shelf.. ) With the proper cables.. would it be ok to loop that bulkhead port back into the server and make a tie to the right side 6 disk cage in the ML530 G2 chassis ? Just trying to be $ creative with what I have to work with !

Re: SmartArray 642 / ML530G2 configuration ?
According to this matrix it is supported:
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/proliantML530/ML530G2-cabling-matrix.pdf
You might get some cabling insight from this doc:
http://h200005.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/UCR/SupportManual/TPM_225579-002-e/TPM_225579-002-e.pdf
and here:

Thanks,
Doug
