SmartStart 8.1

Does anyone know when it is scheduled to come out? We're looking to start building using 8.1 instead of 7.91A. It's been almost 5 months since 8.00 came out with all its bugginess.

Anyone from HP know when?

Re: SmartStart 8.1

Hello,

This is really hard to tell, since we are not completely sure if they are even going to release one.

As a workaround/solution: I really recommend you to install/build everything using 7.91A which is really good. After that, you can upgrade drivers and HP software using the PSP v8.10(Proliant Support Pack). This PSP is exactly the same as using SmartStart CD but on already installed systems.

We don't have SmartStart CD 8.10 but this PSP 8.10 is exactly the same, you can find it ont he following links:

ProLiant Support Pack for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x64 Editions

1) Download File name: psp-8.10.w2k3.i386.exe (120 MB) only (32bit) or File name: psp-8.10.w2k3es.x64.exe (125 MB) for 64bit
2) Extract it into a new folder
3) Run the file "setupex.exe" and it will update everything for you (keeping same configuration)

Regards,

Alfonso

Note: this PSP is also available for W2008.

Re: SmartStart 8.1

When new HP SmartStart released, I was able to upload the contents of new PSP into VCRM for HP SIM. Since there is no SmartStart CD available how can you update PSP 8.10 into VCRM.
