Re: SmartStart For ProLiant DL-160 G5
Some downloads:
recovery CD/DVD is available here: https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=5697-7216a
Some kind of software is available here: https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=5697-7855
You may run into problems running "Normal" DL160 G5 HP stuff on your DL160 G5 Storage Server.

Re: SmartStart For ProLiant DL-160 G5
Thanks Johan Guldmyr .
I do have recovery dvd but it gave me error that i didnt format my logical drive as factory default, I assume 2 logical drives.
HP RAID controller has only one option for raid 5 , full size with 1 logical drive.
some guys asked me to use smartstart to make 2 logical drives.
I don't have one to do so, and smartstart 7.5 version is discontinued. now I'm trying to upgrade firmware to use newer smartstart.
very big thanks and welcomed for any of your suggestions.
thank you.

SolutionHi,
if you create two logical drives (yes you can do that) in one array, you need to create them of a specific size (AFAIK the recovery DVD only proceeds if the logical drives are of a certain size). Which sizes I do not know, this varies between the models but should be possible to find somewhere..
Or, you could delete all the arrays (try the eraze option in BIOS or smartstart) and let the recovery DVD create the
array and logical drives.
Why do you specifically need 7.50?
There is a 7.51 - perhaps that works? I haven't looked into which servers are supported with that but the DL160 G5 isn't thaat old..
