SmartStart iso for VMWare ESXi installation

Hello,

I have an ML350 G6 that has VMWare ESXi installed and my customer has no idea how the Raid is configured. Can someone explain to a Proliant noob I would access the configurartion for this server which does not have Windows or any other "normal" OS installed? If I need to create a SmartStart cd, I am assuming I could also create a bootable USB drive, but when I check the HP downloads there are none that refer to VMWare.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Phil

The SmartStart CD is pre-OS, so it doesn't matter what OS is on the server.  The quickest way would be to reboot the system and during POST the SmartArray controller will display a message about firmware and logical drives. You can press F8 to get into ORCA. This basic tool will show you how the array is configured. Optioanlly you can boot into the SmartStart CD and run ACU

There are some tools available for ESXi, but I'm not familiar with them

Select your version of ESXi here to see what downloads are available for your server

Try this: https://SERVER_IP:2381/

This shoud give you HP SMH Homepage from where you can see complete server configuration.

http://SERVER_IP:2301/

This will give you ACU (Array Configuration Utility) where you can configure your drives if this feature is installed.

Assuming the relevant health packages are installed.....
