Re: SmartStart issues with ProLiant DL360 G1
Smartstart 7.70 is not the correct for G1 Servers, it is 5.5 for G1 servers, check link
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/management/smartstart/serversuportmatric.pdf
well the supported windows for that server are:
Microsoft Windows NT├В┬о Server
Microsoft Windows 2000
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/10530_na/10530_na.HTML
but you can try I know people who has W2003 on G1 server so you can give it a try, it can using Smartstart or installing windows manually (no smartstart 5.5)
regards

Re: SmartStart issues with ProLiant DL360 G1
If anyone reads this that has installed Win 2003 Server on a DL360 G1, if you could give me some pointers on how you got it to work, I'd appreciate it.

SolutionI found your posting while searching for
some info on DL320/360 G1 servers. There
is an Ebay item listing from a volume
seller of used DL360 G1 servers that indicates the servers are "fully tested with WIN 2003 Server". You might be interested in contacting the seller to see if you could
get the info you are looking for. The
Ebay Seller URL is:
http://stores.ebay.com/Garland-Computer
The Ebay item URL is:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/
eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd
=1&item=110179290002&ssPageName
=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=001 (no spaces)
This is in no way an endorsement of
Ebay or its sellers, just a possible
source for the info you are seeking.
By the way since you have access to
a DL360 G1, does it have built in
USB port(s)?? You can post your answer to
this thread or Email at celeyonn@yahoo.com
