SmartStart won't start

I want to purge the current Novell Operating system and install Linux on a clean machine. I put the Smartstart CD in the drive and power the server back up. I get the Smartstart splash screen and the introduction screen - and then nothing. The light indicating the CD is spinning goes off and I have to reboot.

Is there another way of cleaning the machine rather than using the CD? I have checked the CD Drive is working and run a hardware check.

Follow this link. It will create a bootable erase floppy diskette. This will wipe out everything.
