SmartStart
Does anyone know if one can install SmartStart on a Compaq ML530 after the NT 4.0 has been installed without the SmrtStart assisted installation? I have an ML530 runnning NT 4.0 and would like to better manage it with the first step being to get all of the Compaq software installed.

Re: SmartStart
I'm not sure I understand. Assisted install means an assisted installation of the operating system. No this can not be done unless you want to wipe out the current OS install.
If what you mean to ask is: Is it possible to get the HP/Compaq software and drivers installed after the OS is already installed? This can be done. I would recommend downloading the latest Support Pack:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/16263.html
I would then recommend making sure the password is specified for the web agent. After this is installed, all the same software will be installed, which is normally there after an assisted install.

The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..
