Smartarray 6i performance

Hi,

I have a number of DL380 G4 servers, and on our new purchase, our reseller has informed us the Smartarray 6i controllers perform poorly. It has been suggested we purchase a Smartarray 642 card, which apparently avoids overheads caused by the 6i being an onboard card.

Can anybody offer an opinion about this?

Hi Joshua!
It's marketing "fairy-tales". Both controllers have the same perfomance. There is only one option, that can improve perfomance - BBWC Enabler (346914-B21).
