Smartstart 8.7 sbs 2008 on dl380 g7
I recently installed a sbs 2008 server on a dl380 g7 with smartstart 8.6.
The server worked fine.
This week smartstart 8.7 was released so I installed the psp on the server.
Then the troubles began, I am getting BSOD’s.
I checked the minidump files and the problem was hardware not a driver or anything
I tried downgrading the drivers with smartstar 8.6 but this screwed up the server big time.
I reinstalled the server with smartstart 8.6 and it is running fine, does anyone had the same problem??

Re: Smartstart 8.7 sbs 2008 on dl380 g7
I haven't seen this with SS 8.7, but then it has not been released for very long yet. Any info regarding the BSOD? Also, is the firmware on the server up to date?
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Re: Smartstart 8.7 sbs 2008 on dl380 g7
I was waiting for the Smartstart 8.7 for a other costumer who wants sbs2011.
I found the software last Monday so i thought lets update this server to.
Luckily it was not a server at a client.
The firmwareâ s are up to date on the server, I reinstalled the server yesterday with smartstart 8.6 yesterday and so far no BSOD.
I am not able to reproduce the problem because the server has to be up and running next Monday at a customer.
I used windbg to check the dump file and the problem was probably hardware??
Only thing that I noticed that the server always crashed when I did a network copy of files to or from the server.
