Software available with servers?

Hi,

I have come into a large HP environment with a lot of servers of varying types and ages...

I am trying to understand the "HP way" of monitoring these devices but am finding it hard to find the answers to the most basic of questions...

How can I tell from a server serial number if it is still in warranty with HP and what warranty that is?

Also is HP SIM free or not, also there are a large number of option packs such as Proliant etc... are these free?? How can I tell if I am enabled to use these?

The servers currently have no documentation at all so I am starting from scratch and trying to sort through the chaff!

All the above applies to the iLO environments too? How would I go about this?!

If it's a large environment you should get a hold of your account team or reseller and ask them for help getting SIM installed. Go to http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/index.html for an overview of the available tools. SIM can be downloaded from http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/download.html. If you also install the remote support pack it will give you the status of support contracts and warrantys.

You can also check warranty status at http://www11.itrc.hp.com/service/ewarranty/warrantyInput.do?admit=109447626+1233061260956+28353475
