Solaris 10/08 Installation on HP DL160 G5

Hi,

according to the Solaris HCL the HP DL160 G5 (Quad Core 2,0Ghz) should work with Solaris 10/08. But after installation the Server hangs at device configuration. Does anyone knows a solution?

It seems I found the answer. After switchting off the Watchdog everything seems to work.

It turns out the problem hasn't been solved.

The HP DL160 runs fine with Solaris 10, but you can't do a soft reboot, because it won't boot Solaris after that (hangs after loading kernel). I think it's because of a ATA Bug, but nothing has helped to solve the problem (done the ata-revert-to-defaults=0...etc.).

Can someone please help me?

It has something to do with the drives, but I don't know where exactly the fault is. It happens in AHCI, IDE and Raid mode.

here Is my setup:
Os:solaris 10x86 10/08
RAID: RAID 1 using Solaris Volume Manager
Filesystem:Ufs

Are your setup same with me?
By the way may I know how do you disable watchdog
I've tried to search in sun forum for the solution but still no one can answer.
