Solaris 10 on DL185-G5 with P400 controller ??

I'm trying to install Solaris 10 on a DL185-G5 with a P400/256 array controller with 2x SATA disks. The problem is that the Solaris installer will not see the disk controller.

With both Sol10 8/09 and 10/08 versions when the installer asks for "driver updates" it will fail to load the cpqary3 driver ("no such device..."). I've tried 3 versions of the cpqary3 driver. Also set the BIOS SATA mode to "PATA". I even unpacked the Sol10 dvd, installed the cpqary3 driver into it, and repacked. Thinking there might be a problem switching media in this odd little ILO/IPMI virtual console. No luck. Escaped to a shell and tried to modload by hand. Still no such device.

I've got several DL385 boxes running Sol10 with the P400 controller and they all worked as expected. What trick am I missing with this DL185 ??

Perhaps a silly question, but are you certain your DL185 G5 has a P400/256 SA controller in it? Some of the configurations shown on www.hp.com have E200s.

Yes, this is a P400/256 controller. There is no hardware fault - the box loads stock RHEL5.3 with no problem.
