i'm tryng to configure two Dl360G5. But I'm unsure aboute some things. First.. Is Xeon E5345 compatible with both Windows 2003 32 and 64 bit? is Win2003 32bit capable of supporting 12 Gb of ram or will be better If I use Win2003 64 bit?
I'm little bit confused!

32-bit Windows uses "Physical Address Extensions" to support memory >4GB. Basically, as it operates, 1GB of memory carries all the pointers and such, and the additional memory is switched in and out 3GB at a time. This has performance implications.

One of the biggest benefits to 64-bit Windows is a flat memory address space, so no performance degradation with configurations >4GB.

Your processor can run either, but 64-bit is preferred unless there are implications/compatibilities with your application.

Definitely 64-bit will be best choise for SQL 2005 on 12 Gb RAM
