Split RAID 1+0 root disk

I am thinking about using the ACU GUI utility to split a RAID 1+0 array prior to an OS (RHEL5) upgrade. I have read through the ACU manual which puts the basic steps in how to split the disk, but there's no suggestion if this can be used on any OS or if it is even supported by HP. Has anyone got any knowledge of doing this or know of a guide relating to this for RHEL5?

Re: Split RAID 1+0 root disk

Hello,
plase setup your raid directly in BIOS (local connecter either via ILO card). It is very easy.
There in no Acu gui during RH instalation.
Other way - use latest SmartStart cd/dvd and du it in GUI.

Have you read this?

That should answer your question.

Thanks for both replies. I'd not found that document - I'll give it a try and see how I get on.

Re: Split RAID 1+0 root disk

hi Jonathan,

at first you could define the model of your peoliant and the SmartArray controller instaled inside.

in some ARRAY you need to install BBWC + SAAP license to be able split the ARRAy volumes.

in your case i ould recomend to make image of your current system and them upgrade the OS.
