Start DL585 G1 without scsi Interlock - (SCSI Backplane)

Hello,

I have an old DL585 g1 however the performance of the SCSI's with VMWARE on the Smart array i5 is not very good.

I am going to HACK the system and install a Adapted 2820SA with 4 x 500gb HDD SATA II. I am going to use the existing space where the hard drives are at the moment. However when I remove the back plane to make space for cables etc, the system will not boot, I get a light coming up, of course, " scsi Interlock". I assume that it is a feature or safety aspect.

My question:

Can you start DL585 G1 without scsi Interlock - (SCSI Backplane)  (Bypass the scsi Interlock check)

Thank you
