Status Failed in C.I.M. but I can't find the "Failed" device

We have a Novell 4.11 server with CompaqInsightManager 4.90 and the Status in CIM is RED/FAILED. But when I look to all the devices in CIM I see that every device is OK. Although I suspect something wrong with the SMART 3200 array controller or one of the three SCSI drives I don't get any faulty information from Insight Manager except for the status Failed.

Re: Status Failed in C.I.M. but I can't find the "Failed" device

There should be a RED border around the device , if there is a failed device in CIM . Are all the components in the Server Compaq hardware ? If not that may be the problem , CIM will not monitor 3rd Party hardware .

If you suspect the Array Controller or hard drives , run the Array Diagnostic Utility . Also if a hard drive has failed there should be a RED LED ON , on the drive itself .

Re: Status Failed in C.I.M. but I can't find the "Failed" device

As far as I know there are only original Compaq components in the Server.
De D.A.A.D. utilty reports nothing wrong and there is no Red light around the device in CIM and no Red(or Amber) light on one of the Hot plug drives.
However the problem that we have with the Server (since half a year ago after a power failure) is that when we try to dismount the SYS volume to run VREPAIR/V_LONG we don't get a server Prompt. In spite of that it is possible to run VREPAIR/V_LONG and there are always vrxxxx.fil and vrxxx.LNG files created in the root directory. After running VREPAIR/V_LONG for the second time no errors are found. But we can't mount the volume because there is no Prompt. So we have to bring the server DOWN and Up again. After that the vrxxxx.fil file is always corrupt. After dismounting SYS again there is again no Prompt and running VREPAIR/V_LONG has the same outcome over and over again (also when we have deleted the vr*.* files from the root directory before that). We have updated all software and ROMPAQ's (green in CIM) and recently we installed Novell Support Pack 9. The performance of the server seems to be oke and stable. Can anybody help me out here ?

Re: Status Failed in C.I.M. but I can't find the "Failed" device

Roger,
After checking C.I.M. again it appeared that the Integrated Management Log contained some old (about 1 year old) Critical and Caution events which have been resolved a long time ago. So after changing the status of those events to Repaired the Server status is GREEN/OK right now. Since we installed C.I.M. about one month ago we didn't pay much attention to those old events and we coulnd't find it in de user guide. Thank you for your support to resolve our problem (there was a RED border around the "Recovery square" in C.I.M.)
So the Server status is OK right now, however the earlier mentioned dismounting problem (no server prompt) still exists. Do you have any suggestions to resolve that problem too ?
