Stop Error - Server Rebooted itself

Proliant DL380 R03 x2.8/400 512 A/P
Win2003 SP1

Last night at 2.22am one of our servers decided to Restart itself. The only information we were able to retrieve was in the form of a Bug Check Error in the Compaq Integrated Management Log Viewer.

stop: 0x00000044 (0x845312A8, 0x000000D39, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Anyone have any info on this - we have looked through the Event logs but nothing and Google doesnt show anyone else with a similar error!

Where can we start troubleshooting ?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Re: Stop Error - Server Rebooted itself

Your server experienced a BSOD. After 10 seconds of the Advanced Systems Management Controller not being able to talk to a working OS, it attempted a recovery by rebooting. This was the 'effect.' You need to start troubleshooting to determine the 'cause,' or what caused the BSOD.

Re: Stop Error - Server Rebooted itself

Make sure you have last server firmware and last Proliant support pack
See

as well

And probably you can just wait and start troubleshooting only if the issue will happens once again.

Re: Stop Error - Server Rebooted itself

Hi,

Had the same issue last week on a proliant server that was installed with Smartstart 6.20.

This was due to CPQASM.sys or CPQASM2.sys driver.

check this : http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=223316&admit=-682735245+1143787651533+28353475

the solution was to update the PSP to an updated version (7.40B the last one)

best regards,
