Storage Agents: Accelerator Board Battery Failed
I have received the following message on one of our servers, a ProLiant ML530 G2. How do I get one of the batteries to replace the failed one, and is this a task I can do or does tech support have to do the task.
Here is the message I received:
The system has detected the following event:
SNMP Trap: 3040
Date time: 08/31/2008 08:41:24 PM
Computer: DAWN
Source: Storage Agents
Type: Warning
Category: (4)
Description:
An 'Accelerator Board Battery Failed' trap signifies that the agent has detected a battery failure associated with the array accelerator cache board.
Details:
Battery Status 'FAILED'
MEMORY 196608
Controller Slot # 1
Model 24
Serial Number 'P67570B9SQ60MS'
Thanks.

Re: Storage Agents: Accelerator Board Battery Failed
Can you check the model of the Smart Array controller? If it's a SmartArray 6400 or 6i, check that it has the firmware above 2.48.
But it looks like the battery of the Smart Array has failed.

Re: Storage Agents: Accelerator Board Battery Failed
Firmwares below 2.48 have a bug that makes them report the battery as failed when it's not. Update the firmware and reboot the server. Check if the same message stills appears.
