Storage Driver
during install I am unable to find the correct drivers for the storage devices. Install suggests a Ham driver but all I can find for hams are for scsi devices not ide. Do I possible need to load the expansion board first then the HD drivers?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Storage Driver
The ProLiant ML330e is also IDE/ATA (Integrated, dual-channel Ultra ATA-100) based system and Novell is technically not supported on this server, based upon this support matrix. BUT we do have the proper drivers for a support MANUAL install of NetWare thanks to the release of Smart Start 5.30. The drivers for the ATA controller are located in the CPQSUPSW\NSSD\NW5X\DISK1 the drivers that you will need to install for the IDE controller are IDEHD.CDM, IDEHD.DDI (these are for the hard drives) and MEGAIDE.DDI, MEGAIDE.HAM (these are for the Controller). These drivers have not been tested for NetWare 6 but they should work if the client is attempting a Novell 6 install.
NOTE:
These Drivers are ONLY located on the Smart Start 5.30 and not off the Compaq web site. If a client does not have access to this version of Smart Start 5,30 you will need to Email these drivers to the client.
There is a Compaq Integrated ATA RAID Management Utility for NetWare Version 3.03 (17 Jan 02) [ CP001589.NLM ] located under the ML330e on the Compaq Driver Support page. http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/download/11027.html this is only meant to run off the NWCSP (The new NSSD) and is a means to update an existing installed driver only. This driver off the Compaq web site is not meant to be used during a FRESH Novell Red Box install. Only the Driver off the Smart Start 5.3 CD or the latest CSP downloads off the Compaq Support Site is to be used during a fresh install.
The ProLiant ML330 G2 (ATA) is also IDE based system and Novell is technically not supported on this server, based upon this support matrix. BUT we do have the proper drivers for a support MANUAL install of NetWare thanks to the release of Smart Start 5.30.
This server actually has an IDE RAID controller, and uses a different RAID Controller Driver.
The drivers for the ATA controller are located in the CPQSUPSW\NSSD\NW5X\DISK1 the drivers that you will need to install for the IDE controller are IDEHD.CDM, IDEHD.DDI (these are for the hard drives) and MEGARIDE.DDI, MEGARIDE.HAM (these are for the Raid Controller).
There is a AMI IDE / ATA / ATAPI UDMA Host Adapter Module Driver for Novell NetWare 5.x Version 1.02 (17 Jan 02) [ CP001331.NLM ] located under the ML330 (ATA) on the Compaq Driver Support page http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/download/10715.html Support page. This is only meant to run off the NWCSP ( The new NSSD ) and is a means to update an existing installed driver only. This driver off the Compaq web site is not meant to be used during a FRESH Novell Red Box install. Only the Driver off the Smart Start 5.3 CD or the latest CSP downloads off the Compaq Support Site is to be used during a fresh install.
Here is a good link to compare these servers, http://www.compaq.com/products/servers/proliantml330/description-g2.html#quickspecs
