Strange lockup
Here is a strange one, been working on this for 3 weeks windows 2003 Standard, twice a day all the dekstops and servers freeze up when you try to look at the network shares, Restarting the server service and related services clears it up. no errors are logged, actually nothing is logged. If you let it sit in it's frozen state after a while it will log a userenv error that is can't load the group policy because the server is unreachable. the serive restart fixes this also.
Anyone have an idea?
Thanks

Re: Strange lockup
Hi james,
is your server configured as a DC? if not, first complete W2k3 integrated setup . also check if your DNS server working properly, and if you have any wrong entry in GP.

Re: Strange lockup
It is a DC, the DNS was checked by MS, and the group policies have been deleted and remade to check. also, when the service is frozen the DNS returns correct replies for the DC
