Supported Array Controller not detected
We have two HP ProLiant ML370 Generation 4 Server and I started configure this server.
When I run ACU (Array Configuration Utility) it says that "ACU did not detect any supported controllers in your system”.
I have also tried to reboot to ORCA, but I never get the F8 prompt to go into it on reboot??
Thanks!!!

Re: Supported Array Controller not detected
"ACU did not detect any supported controllers in your system
you got this message because ACU only supports Smart Array Controllers
for example
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/arraycontrollers/?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
looking on ML370 g4 quickspecs
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12029_div/12029_div.HTML
Do you have this controller in your server?
Integrated Dual Channel Ultra320 SCSI Adapter
if so
that kind of controller is a Non-RAID configurable just JBOD
"The Embedded Dual Channel Ultra320 SCSI controller is not a raid controller, just an integrated SCSI adapter (without any hardware RAID capability)."
assuming that these are the list of controllers that support RAID level for your seever
Smart Array P600/256 BBWC Controller
Smart Array 6402/128 Controller
Smart Array 641 Controller
Smart Array 642 Controller
HP 8 Internal Port SAS HBA with RAID

Re: Supported Array Controller not detected
sorry I forgot what JBOD means
what is JBOD (Just A Bunch Of Disks)
http://www.storagereview.com/guide2000/ref/hdd/perf/raid/levels/jbod.html
no RAID level configurable so you just need to install your OS normally

Re: Supported Array Controller not detected
One more question?
Can I buy one of the controllers you listed to make my server Raid-configurable?
Kind Regards!

Re: Supported Array Controller not detected
of course see the attached file
taken from here
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12029_div/12029_div.HTML#Options
to buy a new controller for your server with RAID capabilities you just have to buy the controller with your hp provider (or on web) using the part number as you can see in the image
