Suse 9.0 SLeS Linux support on BL30P
I tried installing Suse 9 SLES on an BL30p server but once it tries to start, it just hangs in the formatting hard disk in the GUI.
However, I just installed it on a BL20p blade
in the same chassis.
has anybody ever seen this issue, its weird.

Re: Suse 9.0 SLeS Linux support on BL30P
i have not tried to install SLES 9 on Proliant BL servers (only on DL 360 G3 and G4, no problems), but maybe a few helpful links:

Installing SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 on ProLiant servers HOWTO

Also make sure that you have the latest System ROM (version 4.04 I10-01/27/2005) and ILO Firmware ( version 1.70 A, 16 Feb 05) installed.
Firmware and Drivers for BL30P and SLES 9:

Have you tried to install SLES 9 with Service Pack 1 (booting from the SP1 CD)?
Regards,

Re: Suse 9.0 SLeS Linux support on BL30P
As said before, Updates and Service Packs for SLES are available at http://portal.suse.com
You should have received a registration code with your SLES CD's. Register this in the portal and then you could download and burn the ISO-images for SP1.
