Switching of ASF on network card on ML350 G6 SCO 507
After configuring an ML350 G6 to run on SCO 507, with an additional P400 controller. This machine has a SATA cdrom drive.
There is a Broadcom Diagnostic Boot Disc that can be run to boot into freedos and switch of ASF.
It boots fine, brings up the menu, with option to install to HD
Then fails as I do not think it has the correct CDROM driver?.
Says "CDROM not found".
Without this the network will not work.

Re: Switching of ASF on network card on ML350 G6 SCO 507
Many thanks for that.
I have the correct drivers installed.
The problem is that the "ASF" requires disabling on the firmware.
And using the Broadcom Diagnosis is the only way to sort it. But it will not boot into it as the DOS boot does not recognise the SATA CDROM.
SCO works fine using the cd its only when in the freedos that it fails.
Without this the server is going nowhere!

Re: Switching of ASF on network card on ML350 G6 SCO 507
All sorted.
For future builds.
I put a cut down version of FreDos ona floppy disk and added program B57udiag.exe.
Booted from the floppy and used the above program to disable ASF.
Without disabling this in the firmware the network card WILL NOT work.
