System Configuration Utility Version 2.58AAn error was detetected while opening common CFG text file
It's not a mission critical error, but it just seems a bit weird that we've regressed from version 2.58A (2.50A in Aug 2000). I know the Prosig 500 is rather old but it keeps our NT Domain going still to this day!
When selecting Configure Hardware (from System Partition) it loads up the !xxxx*.cfg files, and then displays a yellow box which states
"An error was detetected while opening common CFG text file. Filename: CPQFEATI.CMN" Hit Enter
cannot continue the configuration process without a system board configuration (CFG) file. Press Enter to return to previous menu.
When running the Compaq System Configuration Utility Version 2.58A from system partition on a ProSignia 500 server, the following error is displayed indicating that the file CPQFEATI.CMN is missing.
No error message is generated when booting from Smart Start CD 5.30.
It's just a little naff, to keep having to boot from the Smart Start CD, when the System config utils are on the System Partition.
Error message running Compaq System Configuration from System Partition.
Tried re-installing System Config from floppy disc and 5.3/5.2/5.1 Smart Start CDs and tried testing on anther ProSig 500 - the same result in all cases.
Have we regressed:- this was a problem in the earlier days with Compaq System Configuration Utility Version 2.50A. August 2000!
any ideas?
