System Dead (No Bluescreen of Dead)

I have the following problem:

Maschine: Proliant 5500R (E39 Bios) with PII Xeon 550Mhz, Smart3200 Controller and Windows NT4 Sp6a and MS-SQL7

For 2 days the machine has stopped every activity as soon as I call an EXE; or when i want to open an icon in the controlpanel.

I tried to Restore the OS, then i tried to update the Compaq Firmware and the Compaq drivers (SMARTSTART 5.10).

Then i did a clean new setup using SMARTSTART 4.90.
But there is no other result, than the maschine is dead.

Did anybody already have the problem and can help me?

check for viruses..also if you can get it to do diagnostics that might help..otherwise its a hardware problem..more info would be required to fix..
