System Event ID #9

I have a Proliant 1500 Server, 5/166 dual processors. I am occasionallly getting this message in the NT event log: ID 9 Source:SymC810
The device, \device\ScsiPort1, did not respond within the timeout period.
Does this message refer to the array controller firmware? The drive in the top bay access light never comes on. I am rather new to this. Thanx for all responses.

no what this is saying is that the cymc810 scsi driver didnt get a response back from a scsi device in the time it has set to get a response bback from it..firstly update the scsi driver to the compaq scsi driver which cpq32fs2.sys which you can get off of our website...this SHOULD get rid of the problem completely BUT if it doesnt you will need to go into yo f10 bios and set the scsi bus speed down a notch
