I am in the process of building a new ML350 G5 server.
we are using smart start 7.91
Firstly
=======
Whilst windows is installing drivers the server always hangs right at the end of the driver installation section.
After rebooting the server it will go through the driver installation section OK
I find this worrying, has anybody any thoughts.
Secondly
========
once the server has finished its build, when you log on for the first time, and every time there after it always comes up with the message
"cannot install device
HP NC373i virtual bus device
Fatal error during installation"
I am assuming this is the network controller, as no network is available.
again has anybody any thoughts please?
thanks
Neil

Re: System Hand on driver install &HP NC373I virtual bus device
OK thanks for that, second issue now resolved.
I did in fact try manually installing a driver, but unfortunately I saw it say broadcom on the boot screen so tried to install the broadcom driver (with out success) instead of the HP NC-Series Multifunction Driver for Windows Server 2003
Cheers

Re: System Hand on driver install &HP NC373I virtual bus device
Does this server has the Terminal Server role? Is this server installed as a Windows Terminal Server?
I suspect that the Terminal Server role does interfere with the installer.

Arian!

I am having the exact same problem. Did you ever get this issue resolved? Are you by chance using 64-bit Windows 2003 Server?
Thanks.
