System Home Page does not show boxes on right

I have managed to successfully install the Proliant Support Pack: psp-8.00.rhel4.x86_64.en.tar.gz on a RHEL 4 x86_64 server. When I access the system management homepage, however there are no boxes on the right showing system status. Clicking the links on the left simply brings up a message that says:

"Content for this integrated agent is linked into the tabs and boxes on the right"

What gives? Am I missing something here?

Hi,

if you don't have boxes, this is normally because of the agents not running or SNMP not configured... (Re)start the agents and check if with the update the SNMP config has been lost

Re: System Home Page does not show boxes on right

I don't think the problem is SNMP. I did notice however that the working servers are running HPSMH version:

HP System Management Homepage v2.1.10.186

Whereas this broken one is running:

HP System Management Homepage v2.1.11.197

Pity the newer version seems to perform worse than the old one! I guess I'll go dig up version 7.90 of the psp for my server and see if that works better.

Re: System Home Page does not show boxes on right

The most common cause of this is due to not having write permissions on the SNMP community string specified. Another possibility is that you have specified specific hosts to receive traps from, but don't have this server listed as one of them. If this is the case, then you should specify the loopback address as one of the hosts to receive traps from.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Re: System Home Page does not show boxes on right

I just installed the same kit for 32 bit RHEL4 and have the same issue.

I'm going to bring up the configuration menu and see what I might need to change for authorization settings.

Thanks Terry!

Re: System Home Page does not show boxes on right

I had a similar experience after I upgraded a working BL30p (ie correct SNMP) from PSP 7.91a to PSP 8.00a for Windows Server 2003

Only three boxes appeared in the System Status Summary.

From the server itself:-
On the System Management HomePage, I clicked:
Settings
Select SMH Data Source
and then selected the SNMP radio button (it was on WBEM) and clicked Select.
I then logged out of the System Management Homepage webpage.

I opened SMHP again, and logged in again.
This time all seven of my boxes appeared.
I didn't have to change any SNMP settings.
