System Pauses every 20-30 seconds
We recently loaded CO nix 5.0.6 on a DL360. The SO it seems to pause every 20-30 seconds for 1-2 seconds. All screens seem locked and then they respond again. Characters typed during the pause are held in a buffer. It feels like a typical overloaded nix system when the disk is overloaded and it is swapping or trying to keep up with I/I requests - but there are only one or two users on the system in the "test" environment and the system isn't overloaded.
The system also has a Compaq Raid controller with the Compaq supplied CISS drivers connected to an external compaq rack mount disk enclosure.
Any ideas?

Re: System Pauses every 20-30 seconds
Hello
same behavior here, dual III 933 DL360, and 5.0.6 with rs506a.
We have also tried to remove SAP, with no success.
We have heard Compaq about, but they say to me that hardware isn't certified for Open server 5.0.x

Re: System Pauses every 20-30 seconds
Check the /usr/adm/messages and /usr/adm/syslog for any errors ..
Aslo enable the Scodb so we can look up the errors during the pause period .
check how to enable Scodb for SCO openserver 5.0.6
