T700

I have a new T700 UPS that I want to connect to mij server. However ther is no supporting software for w2000 shipped only NT4. I want to use LanSafe (Powerware.com) but they do have a win2000 driver but LanSafe does not support the T700 because it is not in the list when I try to install the software. Does anybody have a tip?
Kind Regards Marcel Huijbens

Re: T700

Just curious whether you ever found a solution to this problem -- I am in a similar situation.

Re: T700

I received the following anser from Powerare:

The latest version of the Compaq Power Management CD ROM (v1.8) does
support W2000 environments, but if you're having trouble installing the
software, here are the points to look for:

There are two versions of the Compaq T700 UPS circulating at the moment.
If you have P/N: 295372-B22, then using Lansafe, please install the UPS as
either a NetUPS or PW5105 if you cannot find any references to Compaq. If
you have P/N: 204015-B31, then this may have to be installed as a Generic
XCP machine as this talks the new UPS protocol we have. The communications
cable supplied with the UPS will work fine.

You will need to ensure the Lansafe agent in Windows 2000 has been started,
this (I think) will be accessible via Control Panel & Services the same as
Win NT, and that a comms port has been assigned to the UPS.

If you still have any issues, please let me know by e-mail and I'll do my
best to help.
